兰登《STEP into READING》第3级 Little Witch Learns to Read 译文分享
Little Witch began staying up late every night reading. But she was getting more and more sleepy every day.
Little Witch tried a magic spell: “Jumpity lumpity, Coffee shake, Help me, PLEASE, To stay awake!”
The spell did not work. She even fell asleep at dinner.
为了阅读，小女巫每天晚上都睡得很晚，但因此她也变得越来越困
小女巫施了一个咒语：“强皮提朗皮提，咖啡奶昔，让我清醒！”
魔咒没有用，她甚至在吃晚饭的时候睡着了
That night, everyone sat together in the family room.
Little Witch read aloud. “And the evil queen said, ‘Take Snow White into the forest and kill her,’” read Little Witch.
The witches rubbed their bony hands together and giggles.“Keep reading!” said Aunt Grouchy.
这天晚上，大家都在客厅坐好了
小女巫正大声朗读。“于是恶毒的王后说，‘把白雪公主带到森林里去杀掉，’“小女巫读道
女巫们搓着他们瘦骨嶙嶙的手，咯咯笑着，“接着读！”Grouchy姑姑说
Then Little Witch read the part about the prince. But Aunt Grouchy and Aunt Nasty were fast asleep.
“What’s a prince?” asked Cousin Dippy.
“There are none!” said Mother Witch. “Be quiet and let Little Witch finish!”
And Little Witch did.
接着小女巫读到了王子出场的那一部分，但Grouchy姑姑和Nasty姑姑睡着了
“什么是王子？”表姐Dippy问道
“现在没有了！”女巫妈妈说，“安静点，让小女巫读完！”
小女巫读完了整个故事
Mother Witch put Little Witch to bed.
“That book has a very stupid ending. Nobody lives happily ever after! But the middle parts were good.”
“Do you think I am a good reader?” asked Little Witch.
“Yes,” said Mother Witch. “You are good at everything---except being BAD!”
女巫妈妈送小女巫上床睡觉
“那本书的结局真蠢！没人能一直幸福地生活！但中间部分还挺精彩的。”
“我读得好吗？”小女巫问道
“当然，”女巫妈妈说，“你什么都很擅长——除了变成坏孩子！”
The next morning, Little Witch woke up early. She wasn’t sleepy at all!
She put Snow White in her backpack.
“Bring home another book,” said Mother Witch. “But only if it is wicked.”
第二天，小女巫早早地醒了，她一点儿也不困了！
她把《白雪公主》装进背包
“再带一本书回来，”女巫妈妈说，“前提是要邪恶的书。”
“It’s a deal,” said Little Witch with a wink.
Mother Witch gave Little Witch a big hug.
Then Little Witch flew off to school.
“说定了，”小女巫眨眨眼
女巫妈妈给了小女巫一个大大的拥抱
然后小女巫便飞去上学了
