《第二图书馆》引导孩子从简短的句子，满满向长句子和有故事情节的文章，进行拓展阅读，拓宽了孩子的英文阅读的层次，丰富了孩子的单词量。其宗旨是在提升儿童的阅读能力，主题非常多元化，许多有趣又耳熟能详的经典故事，内容除了文字叙述外，还搭配了可爱的插图，有助于小朋友培养阅读长篇故事的能力。
