Daisy的妈妈揽住Daisy的肩膀，“如果你不穿裙子去参加Sue阿姨和Clive的婚礼呀，我会很难过，奶奶也会很难过，爷爷也会很难过，Clive也会很难过，全世界的人都会难过的。”妈妈夸张地说道。

Daisy unfolded her arms and sighed. "I'll wear my football kit!" offered Daisy.

Daisy摊开手臂，叹了口气，“我会穿我的足球队服！”她提议道。

"Bridesmaid don't wear football kits," sighed Daisy's mum.

“伴娘不穿球服，”妈妈叹气道。

"Scuba gear looks good!" offered Daisy.

“潜水服也不错！”Daisy提议道。

"Or how about a leopard skin suit?"

“豹子套装怎么样？”

"We're going to be in a church. Daisy, not a zoo," sighed Daisy's mum.

“Daisy，我们要去的是教堂，不是动物园。”妈妈叹气道。

"At least come and try some dresses on," said Auntie Sue.

“至少来试穿几条裙子吧，”Sue阿姨说。

 

 

"Yes," said Daisy's mum. "Please come and try some dresses on. I think you'd look lovely in a dress."

“对啊，”妈妈说，“来试穿几条裙子吧，你穿裙子一定很可爱。”

Daisy stuck her hands in her pockets and shrugged her shoulders. She didn't do lovely either.

Daisy两手插在口袋里，耸了耸肩。她也不想变得可爱。

"If I don't like them, I'm not wearing them," she grumbled. 

“如果我不喜欢那些裙子，我是不会穿出去的。”她嘟囔道。

Daisy's mum and Auntie Sue smiled at each other and rushed Daisy to the wedding dress shop before she could change her mind.

妈妈和Sue姑妈相视一笑，趁着Daisy还没改变主意，赶紧带她来到了婚纱店。

Daisy tried the first dress on.

Daisy试穿了第一条裙子。

It was passion pink satin with rosebuds and frilly bits.

But the cotton and the tartan and the organza and the chiffon and the lace and the pleats and the petticoats and the ruffles and the sashes and the embroidery and the applique and theribbons and the tiaras and the handbags and the headdresses were all yuk.

但不管是棉裙、格子裙、纱裙、雪纺裙，还是蕾丝裙、褶子裙、衬裙、荷叶裙，不管是腰带、刺绣、贴花、缎带，还是头饰、提包、头巾都不好看。

Daisy's mum looked at Auntie Sue.Auntie Sue looked at the dress shop owner.Everyone had run out of ideas. Except Daisy.

妈妈看向Sue阿姨，Sue阿姨看向店主，大家都没主意了，除了Daisy。

"I'll tell you what," said Daisy. "I'll wear a dress if I can draw it myself."

“要我说，”Daisy说，“如果我能穿我自己画的裙子，我就穿它。”

Daisy's mum raised her eyebrows and looked at Auntie Sue.

妈妈扬了扬眉毛，看向Sue阿姨。

"It's a deal," said Auntie Sue.

“就这么定了，”Sue阿姨说。

When Daisy got home, she ran upstairs and closed her bedroom door. She laid out some big pieces of paper on her bedroom floor and tipped the crayons from her pencil case onto her bed.

一到家，Daisy就上了楼，关上了房间的门。她在地板上铺了许多张纸，把铅笔盒里的蜡笔倒在了床上。

When Daisy's mum came upstairs to call Daisy to dinner, she found a note pinned to Daisy's bedroom door. 'Do not disterb. I'm bizzy. Leave dinner here.'

当妈妈上楼来叫Daisy去吃晚饭的时候，她看到门上贴了一张字条，“不要打扰，我很忙，把晚饭留在这儿。”

When Daisy's mum came upstairs with Daisy's pyjamas she found another note pinned to Daisy's door. 'Still bizzy.'

当妈妈带着Daisy的睡衣上楼来的时候，她看到门上换了一张字条，“还在忙。”

"I do hope it isn't a vampire's dress," sighed Daisy's mum.

“希望那不是一条吸血鬼裙子，”妈妈叹气道。

On the day of the wedding, a smiling Auntie Sue arrived at the church, wearing her wedding dress.

婚礼那天，Sue阿姨穿着她的婚纱来到了教堂，开心地笑着。

It was white satin with sequins and lacy bows and came with a rosebud tiara.

婚纱是条饰有亮片和花边蝴蝶结、配有玫瑰头冠的白色缎裙。

Behind Auntie Sue came a smiling Daisy, wearing her bridesmaid's dress.

Sue阿姨后面跟着的是笑容满面的Daisy，穿着她自制的伴娘裙。

It was green silk and came with a black ninja headband, maximum confetti action belt and hidden extras.

那是一条绿色的丝裙，配有黑色的忍者发带、口袋里塞满了五彩纸屑，还有好几个秘密口袋。

The moment the wedding was over, Daisy reached for her confetti action belt and blammed everybody big time. She got Auntie Sue down the front of her dress and Uncle Clive down his collar.

婚礼结束的时候，Daisy拿出她的五彩纸屑，向大家撒去。彩屑落到Sue阿姨的裙子上，落到姑父Clive的领子里。

 

 

She got the Vicar in the ear. Nanny in the handbag, and Grampy in the camera.

她朝牧师的耳朵撒去，朝奶奶的手提包、爷爷的照相机撒去。

"How do you like me in a dress?" laughed Daisy, hitting her mum right in the mush with two handfuls.

“你觉得我穿裙子怎么样呀？”Daisy大笑着，把手里攥着的两大把彩屑朝妈妈撒去。

Daisy's mum sighed and began picking bits of confetti out from between her teeth.

妈妈叹了口气，开始把沾到牙齿上的彩屑摘下来。

"Yuk, Daisy!" she spluttered.

“咦，Daisy！”她气急败坏地说道。

"Yuk, yuk, yuk, yuk, yuk!"

“难看死了！难看死了！难看死了！”
