On a very cold day,during a very cold winter,sheets of ice float on the Vistula River,and out toward the Balic Sea. 在寒冷的冬季里，有一天天气非常的冷，维斯瓦河上漂浮着大片大片的浮冰，缓缓向着波罗的海飘去。Something is moving in the water.What is it？
水里有个东西在动，那是什么？
Is it a bird ? No. A fish ? No. It's a DOG ! A little dog is adrift on the ice.
是小鸟吗？不是。是鱼吗？不是。是一只狗，漂浮的冰面上有一只小狗。
"Can anybody help?Please help dog!"
“谁来帮帮忙，快点，救救那只狗！”
The firemen come to help.They go into the river,trying to reach the DOG.
消防员来帮忙了，他们淌进冰河，试着接近那只狗。
But the river flows too fast. The little dog floats away with the current, past the people and past the buildings .Dog leaves everyone behind.
但是河水流得太急了，小狗顺着河流，飘过人群，飘过城镇，将所有人甩在了背后。
Night comes and goes. 天黑了，天又亮了。
Dog's thick fur keeps him warm. But Dog is wet and tired and hungry.And he is scared. Don't be scared,Dog!
小狗厚实的皮毛保持着它的体温。可是它又湿、又累、又饿。它还很害怕。别怕，小狗！
A ship is coming ! 一艘船开过来了！
The crew sees something on the ice. Is it a seal ? No.It has four legs,ears,and a tail.
"It's a dog!Let's help him!"
船员们看见冰上有东西。是海豹吗？不对。这东西有四条腿，一对耳朵，还有一只尾巴。
“是一只狗！我们得救它！”
The crew pulls out a big net on a pole. Jump in ,Dog!
But Dog slips. He falls into the water.
船员们伸出一根套着大网的杆子。跳进来，小狗！但是小狗踩滑了。跌进了水里。
Oh no !Where is Dog? There he is ! Dog climbs back onto the ice.
噢，天哪！小狗在哪儿？他在那儿！小狗爬回了冰面上。
The crew lowers a small boat into the icy water.
A seamen climbs in and paddles toward Dog.
船员们放下了一只小船，以为水手爬进船里，朝小狗的方向划去。
He gets closer. And closer.And then ... 他越来越近，越来越近。然后...
He saves Dog! 他把小狗救起来了！
“Quick, get towels! Quick,get blankets!" The whole crew helps Dog.
“快，拿毛巾来！快，那毯子来！”全体船员都来帮忙了。
It Dog okay?Dog is so weak and so tired,he can barely move.
小狗还好吗？小狗太虚弱了，太疲倦了，几乎动也不能动了。
Finally, Dog is warm .Finally, Dog is dry.He eats and falls asleep, safe
at last aboard the ship. When Dog wakes up, he looks for the people who saved him.
终于，小狗暖和过来了，终于，小狗身上干爽了。他吃了东西，睡着了，在船上，安全了。
小狗醒来后，就去找救命恩人。
They are eating breakfast. Everyone is happy to see Dog awake.
They give Dog a sausage.
船员们正在吃早饭。见到小狗来，大家都很高兴。他们给了小狗一根腊肠。
Dog finds the man who pulled him out of the water.
Dog puts his nose on his lap. That's how he says "Thank you."
小狗找到了那位把它从水里捞上来的船员。他把他的鼻子放在他的膝盖上。这就是狗狗说“谢谢你”的方式。
“You're welcome,Dog.You 're welcome ...Baltic! That's it! That's what we'll call you!"
"不客气小狗，欢迎你......波罗的！对了！我们以后就这么叫你！”
And that's how a brave little dog got his name and his new home .
